WINE TASTING
Located amidst the vines at the entrance to our Franschhoek Kitchen restaurant is our wine tasting lounge. Here John and his team will welcome you with a tutored tasting of our award winning wines. Be sure to taste the beautifully fragrant rosé, our well-structured reds and the sweet ending to your tasting, our GoodsPort Cape Vintage – a decadent port-style wine. The climax is a tasting of our iconic red wine named after proprietor, Gerard Holden. The Big G is our gold medal winning Bordeaux-style blend that demonstates what hard work in the cellar and vineyards can achieve. It is a fitting tribute to Gerard and certainly a wine to take home to your own cellar.

Enjoy a picnic in our vineyards
You and your friends arrive early afternoon on our estate and park at the restaurant where your picnic baskets are ready for collection filled with delicious fresh local produce, refreshing drinks and our fine wines. Meandering through the vineyards, you reach the Franschhoek river and decide on an idyllic spot under ancient oaks to relax and enjoy the slow flow of the day. Friends, good food and fine wine in an enchanting surrounding, you forget about time and relax completely – our staff check on your supplies and you decide to stay a little bit longer with another chilled bottle of our rosé or one of our sophisticated reds. The only sounds you hear are the birds, the gurgling of the river and the laughter of your friends.
