HOLDEN MANZ WINE ESTATE

From the moment you cross the Stony Brook river onto our wine farm you will be enchanted by the welcoming atmosphere on this family estate.  The Holden Manz wine estate is nestled between the Franschhoek and Stony Brook rivers amidst the majestic mountain range of the Franschhoek valley.  Our 22 hectare wine estate benefits from wonderfully fertile and dark loam soils and a state of the art wine making cellar under the supervision of award winning winemaker Schalk Opperman.

Our guiding principal is to ‘tread lightly’ and the whole team works hard to minimise our carbon footprint, utilisation of chemicals, use of borehole water and impact on the environment.  All of our red wines benefit from at least 12 months in French oak barrels.  Our premium Big G enjoys an additional 2 to 6 months in barrel to allow for the gentle softening of tannins and integration of the oak components.

The ‘Franschhoek Kitchen’ restaurant located above the boutique winery welcomes you to enjoy fresh, local, organic food and fine wine, picnics and fun for the whole family.  We cater for events and weddings and our Africology spa is renowned for its perfect setting and pampering service and treatments.

The five star country house with its four suites is positioned away from the active restaurant/winery building amongst ancient oak trees where the two rivers meet.  A perfect place to escape and find your own little bit of Franschhoek paradise.

We look forward to welcoming you onto our estate – your Holden Manz wine estate team.
